For Adults
Online Quran Classes for Adults
Live one-to-one Quran lessons for adults, including complete beginners who cannot yet read Arabic. Start with Noorani Qaida and build to reading the Quran, with a male or female tutor of your choosing and timing that fits your day.
The Path
Which Quran Course Should an Adult Start With?
Adults start where their reading is today. Each course links to its full page, and all seven are open to adults at the same fee.
Noorani Qaida
The Arabic letters, their sounds and how to join them. Where adults starting from zero Arabic begin.
Tajweed
Makharij, noon sakinah, qalqalah and madd, often taken by adults correcting long-held habits.
Starting Later
Is It Too Late to Learn the Quran as an Adult?
No. Adults learn to read the Quran in their thirties, fifties and seventies, and the sequence is the same one children follow because it is built on how the writing system works. What changes is the explanation and the pace. The real work is producing a handful of unfamiliar sounds, and that comes from practice rather than age.
You should not be given a child's lesson. If the teaching does not suit you, tell us and we will move you to a different tutor. Read the full answer in Can adults learn to read the Quran from scratch?, which was reviewed by Mufti Abdul Baseer.

Quran Classes for Adults: Common Questions
Yes. Adults learn to read the Quran from zero Arabic, usually following the same sequence as children with a different explanation and pace. The hard parts are the unfamiliar sounds, correcting yourself and protecting your lesson slot, not age. Our guide Can adults learn to read the Quran from scratch? sets out the pathway.
Adults who cannot yet read Arabic start with Noorani Qaida, which teaches the letters and how to pronounce them. Nazra Quran, reading directly from the Quran, follows, and Tajweed can be added once reading is secure. Adults who can already read can tell the tutor at the free trial class.
The sequence is the same for adults and children because it follows how the writing system works, but the explanation and pace are different. If the match is not right, tell us and we will move you to a different tutor.
