Why Families Ask

Why a Female Tutor Matters

For a great many Muslim families, whether the teacher is a woman is not a small preference to be accommodated grudgingly — it is the thing that decides whether a daughter or an adult sister studies the Quran at all. We would rather say plainly that we offer it than leave families to guess.

So: you can request a female Quran teacher, and you do not need to explain why. Tell us at registration and we will match you with one of our qualified female tutors. It costs no more than any other class, and it applies to every course we teach.

Every class is one-to-one and private — your daughter is never placed in a group call with students she does not know. It is her, her tutor, and the lesson.

What They Teach

Courses Available with a Female Tutor

Every course we offer can be taught by a female tutor, at the same monthly fee.

01

Noorani Qaida

Arabic letters and correct pronunciation — the beginning point for children and for adult sisters starting from scratch.

02

Nazra Quran

Fluent, accurate reading directly from the Quran once the letters are secure.

03

Hifz-ul-Quran

Structured memorisation at a pace that fits around school, university or family life.

04

Tajweed

Makharij, noon sakinah, qalqalah and madd — often taken by adult sisters correcting long-held habits.

05

Tafseer & Basic Fiqh

Meaning and context of the Quran alongside the everyday Fiqh a practising Muslim woman needs.

06

Islamic Duas

Daily masnoon duas and the six kalimas with their meanings — a favourite with younger girls.

Who It Suits

Families Who Ask For This

✓
Parents arranging Quran classes for a daughter who is more comfortable learning from a woman
✓
Adult sisters returning to the Quran after years away, who would rather not learn in front of a man
✓
Revert sisters starting from the Arabic letters and wanting a patient, private setting
✓
Mothers learning alongside their children, often in back-to-back class slots
✓
Any family for whom a female teacher is simply the condition under which study happens
Our Female Tutors

Qualifications, Plainly Stated

Our female teaching staff hold recognised Islamic qualifications. An Alima has completed the full female scholarly programme — the equivalent of the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum studied by male scholars. A Qaria is formally trained and certified in Quranic recitation and Tajweed, which is the qualification that matters most when someone is correcting how a student actually sounds.

You can see each tutor listed individually, with their qualification, specialism, years of experience and teaching languages, on our tutors page. We publish that because families deserve to know who will be sitting with their daughter before they commit to anything.

If the tutor we match you with is not the right fit — for level, personality or schedule — tell us and we will move the student to another female tutor. That is not a favour; it is how the academy is meant to work.

Common Questions

Female Quran Teachers — Your Questions

Yes. Tell us when you register that you would like a female tutor and we will match you with one of our qualified female teachers. There is no extra charge, and no need to explain your reasons.

Yes. Our female tutors hold recognised Islamic qualifications — Alima, the female scholarly qualification, and Qaria, formal certification in Quranic recitation and Tajweed — and teach students of all ages.

All of them. Noorani Qaida, Nazra Quran, Hifz-ul-Quran, Tajweed, Tafseer & Basic Fiqh and Islamic Duas can all be taught by a female tutor at the same monthly fee as any other class.

Both. Many of our adult female students are learning Noorani Qaida or correcting their Tajweed for the first time, often years after school. Classes are one-to-one and private, so there is no group to feel self-conscious in front of.

Yes. Every class is one-to-one between the student and her tutor — never a shared group call. Nobody else is in the session.

No. Male and female tutors are charged at exactly the same rate, from £20 per month for two classes a week.

Yes. Each student is matched with one tutor who teaches all of her classes, so she builds a relationship with a teacher who knows exactly where she is up to.

Contact us and we will move her to a different female tutor. A student who is not comfortable with her teacher will not learn well, and we would much rather change the pairing than have anyone struggle through it.
